Education

David Chambers grew up in Limerick and attended school there, coming of age in a city with a rich but often underestimated creative culture. He went on to study at the Limerick School of Art and Design, where he developed the visual, satirical, and conceptual thinking that would later define his work. His education gave him a grounding in ideas and expression rather than a single narrow skill, something he has spoken about as deeply formative.

Career

Chambers first came to national attention as one half of the Rubberbandits, a comedy and music duo whose sharp, darkly funny work skewered Irish society in ways that felt genuinely new. Rather than resting on that success, he kept pushing into new territory, launching 'The Blindboy Podcast' in 2017, which grew into one of Ireland's most listened-to podcasts, covering everything from mental health to art history to Irish folklore. He also published short story collections and appeared on television, building a body of work that is hard to pin to any single label. Each move came not from a grand plan but from following genuine curiosity.

Key Lesson

David Chambers is proof that a career can be built around a way of thinking rather than a job title. If you are someone who is interested in too many things at once, that is not a problem to fix — it might be exactly your strength. Limerick, art college, a plastic bag on his head: none of it looked like a conventional path, and that is precisely the point.
