"What if you learned the national game later than everyone else and loved it anyway?"
There is something quietly brilliant about learning the national game as an adult, on your own terms, with no Leaving Cert PE teacher watching. You will feel ridiculous the first time you try to solo the ball and miss completely, then suddenly it clicks, and you are sprinting across a GAA pitch somewhere in rural Ireland wondering why you waited so long. You pick up a skill, a team, and a ready-made social life all at once. It turns out belonging to something ancient and local feels surprisingly good.
